Floraly (“we”, “the app”) helps you identify plants and get care guidance. This policy explains what we collect and how it’s used.

No account, no personal profile

Floraly does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email, or any personal identifier. On first launch we create an anonymous identifier so your saved plants stay tied to your device. You may optionally create an account (email, Apple, or Google) to sync across devices. You can erase your data at any time (see “Deleting your data”).

What we collect

• Plant photos you scan. When you scan or choose a photo, it is sent to our backend to be identified.
• Care profiles generated for your plants (names, watering/light/soil notes, health status) and your watering log dates.
• Account info if you sign in — your email address (or the private relay address Apple provides).
• Support messages you choose to send us.

We do not collect contacts, location, advertising identifiers, or browsing history.

How your photo is processed

To identify a plant, your photo is sent from the app to a secure backend function, which forwards it to OpenAI for analysis. OpenAI returns a text description that becomes the plant’s care profile. Per OpenAI’s API terms, API inputs are not used to train their models.

Where your data is stored

Saved plants and photos are stored with Supabase (database and file storage) and cached on your device so the app works between sessions. Access is restricted so your records are only accessible to your account or anonymous profile.

Third parties

• Supabase — authentication, database, and photo storage.
• OpenAI — plant identification from your photo.
• Apple / Google — only if you choose to sign in with them.

We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Deleting your data

Open Settings → Delete My Data in the app to permanently remove every saved plant and photo from your device and the cloud and reset your profile. You can also delete an individual plant by long-pressing its card or using the trash icon on its detail screen.

Children

Floraly is rated for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Care guidance disclaimer

Plant identifications and care tips are AI-generated and may be inaccurate. Some plants are toxic to children or pets — verify before acting. Floraly is for general guidance only and is not professional horticultural, medical, or veterinary advice.
